Who is John Viel?

I’m John Viel, owner of J Viel Bookkeeping and a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor helping small business owners maintain clean, accurate, CPA-ready books.

As a U.S. Navy veteran, I built my career on discipline, integrity, and accountability. I bring those same standards to my bookkeeping work today.

Before starting my bookkeeping practice, I spent 30 years in the automotive industry, including 28 years managing sales and finance operations. In that high-stakes environment, I learned firsthand that a business is only as strong as its financial records. Accurate reporting, compliance, and attention to detail weren’t optional—they were essential.

After years of working in high-pressure financial environments, I saw how critical accurate records are to running a successful business. Today, I bring that same level of attention and accountability to the small businesses I work with.

Who I Work With – I work primarily with contractors and small service-based businesses that want clean, reliable books and better visibility into their financials.

Based in Lancaster, Ohio, I proudly serve small businesses throughout Central Ohio and the Columbus metro area, including Hilliard, Dublin, Reynoldsburg, Pickerington, Circleville, and Canal Winchester.
